As a content creator, cutting through the noise is paramount; otherwise, your carefully crafted images will be drowned out. But with so many tips on the internet, knowing who to listen to can feel overwhelming. Maybe that’s why you’re here; you want to improve your social media photography and want advice on how to do this.

Sounds like you? No worries; we’ve got you. Here are five tips to improve your social media photography.

    1. Outline Your Goals

Before browsing social media stock photos, it’s important to understand your goals. This could be, for example, posting about your latest product or simply gaining new followers to boost your page. When you have an idea of your intention, it’s easier to tailor your strategy to fulfill your needs.

Also, users must consider their target audience to determine the type of photos to post. Using the platform’s analytic tools, figure out who your largest demographic is and keep them in mind as you shoot social media photos.

    2. Use Editing Apps

Harness the power of photography and social media apps to curate the ultimate feed. There are many great options, such as VSCO, Snapseed, and the Adobe Creative Suite. Take the time and experiment with each one until you’re happy with the features, such as the background remover tool.

    3. Work With Lighting

An effective way of improving your photography social media results is working with lighting. The best form is natural, so open the curtains and make sure your subject is easy to see. If it’s on an overcast day, invest in a ring light, as it produces great images.

Also, anyone shooting outside should snap photos in the golden hour. This is either early morning or evening when the natural light is softer.

    4. Follow the Rules of Composition

Aside from considering social media photo sizes, users should familiarize themselves with the rules of thirds.

Professional photographers follow this composition trick where you divide the image into three, meaning your subject takes up one-third of the photo. The beauty of this rule is it creates plenty of negative space, which makes it easier on the viewer’s eyes.

    5. Be Consistent

If you want to be successful on social media, you must always be consistent, which includes posting arresting images. Make sure you post great-quality photos several times a week at the very least to engage your followers. To help you stay organized, create a schedule, so it’s easier to produce the perfect amount of photos and publish them consistently.
